If you’re looking for another way to engage your fans or customers on the web, consider using video. Check out this video I made to give you some ideas:
Here are some reminders:
- Be engaging
- Don’t concentrate too much on a script
- Show something
- Use graphics
- Integrate keywords in description
- Keep it short
Remember, this doesn’t have to be commercial quality. Social media in particular is much more accepting of things like shaky video.

Very nice. Good job Alison. I'm inspired to shoot some video now!
>Great video Alison! I think that book is a page turner too…!
>From Angela Murphy:Great article, Alison! I especially love when videos supplement any kind of tutorial. When directions are written out, it can be intimidating to look at a long page of steps. I wanted to add that there are many reasons that people should still provide directions/key points in written form too. A video should be a supplement. One reason is accessibility. The deaf community won't be able to hear your audio and some devices don't show video well. Another reason is Search Engine Optimization. In general, search engines are text based and won't be able to understand rich media content. They rely mainly on your text to know what your web page is about.
>Love the use of video here. Nothing sells more then a smiling face! Well done.
